Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 3, 2026
LockdIn is built local-first. This policy describes exactly what the app does with your data — nothing more, nothing less.
The short version
- Your habit data stays on your device by default. No account is required to use the app.
- Your data is only stored in the cloud if you explicitly opt in to cloud backup by signing in.
- We collect anonymous usage analytics and crash reports to improve the app — and you can turn analytics off in Settings.
- We do not sell your data, show ads, or share your data with third parties for marketing.
Data stored on your device
Everything you create in LockdIn — your habits, daily scores, streaks, workout logs, diet ratings, journal entries, Bible reading progress, themes, and settings — is stored locally on your device. If you never sign in, none of this content ever leaves your phone. Deleting the app deletes this data.
Optional cloud backup (opt-in)
LockdIn offers an optional backup and sync feature. It is off until you choose to sign in with Apple or Google from Settings. If you opt in, the following is stored on our servers, linked to your account:
- Your account identifier (and name/email as provided by Apple or Google sign-in)
- Your profile name and selected pillars
- Your habits, streaks, and daily history
- Diet ratings, workout sessions, and Bible reading progress
- Your theme and app settings
This data is used solely to back up your progress and sync it across your devices. Each user's data is isolated by security rules so only you can access it.
Deleting your backup: you can request deletion of your backed-up data at any time by contacting us at lockdin.real@gmail.com, and we will delete it. Signing out stops all syncing; your local data remains on your device.
Analytics and crash reporting
To understand how the app is used and fix problems, LockdIn collects:
- Product analytics (via PostHog): anonymous usage events such as which screens are opened and which features are used. This does not include the content of your habits, journal entries, or other personal data. You can opt out of analytics at any time in Settings, which stops all analytics collection.
- Crash reports (via Firebase Crashlytics): technical information about crashes, such as device model, OS version, and the state of the app when it crashed, so we can fix bugs.
What we don't do
- We do not sell or rent your data.
- We do not show ads or share data with advertisers.
- We do not use tracking cookies. This website is a static page that sets no cookies and runs no trackers.
- We do not read the content of your journal entries or habits for any purpose other than storing your opt-in backup.
Payments
Premium subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We never see or store your payment details.
Children
LockdIn is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above.
